Hannibal Dollars for Scholars--$750

Open to all graduating seniors from Hannibal High School accepted at a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.  The number of scholarships varies according to funding available.

Shumway Scholarship--$750

Open to female graduating seniors from Hannibal High School with a community service history who are pursuing physical education.  One scholarship per year. This scholarship was established in memory of Mary Louise Shumway, who was a Physical Education teacher at Hannibal High School. 

 

Country Cruizers Scholarship--$500

Open to graduating seniors from Hannibal High School attending a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.  One scholarship per year.  This scholarship is sponsored by the Country Cruizers Car Club.  Preference is given to students going into a transportation related trade or profession. 

Eric Longley Memorial Scholarship--$500

Open to graduating seniors from Hannibal High School who are pursuing a career in the mental health field.  One scholarship is offered per year.

Eric Longley suffered from bi-polar disorder and took his own life.  This scholarship is established to recognize a student who plans to work in this challenging field.  We need more caring and compassionate professionals who can help individuals like Eric who are in a dark place.

Trooper Amanda Anna Scholarship --$1,000

Open to female graduating seniors who have participated in athletic activities, have a good academic record and record of good citizenship and community involvement.  Three scholarships are offered.  One for a student from Hannibal High School, one from Central Square and a third from one of the other Oswego County school districts.  Funding for this scholarship was provided by the family of Amanda (Sweeney) Anna and the fundraising efforts of the Central Square Station of Troop D of the New York State Police.

This scholarship is in memory of New York State Trooper Amanda Anna, a Hannibal High School graduate and NYS Trooper stationed in Central Square.  She was killed in the line of duty in 2012.  Amanda Anna's community was important to her and she worked hard at everything she did, which helped her succeed.. She played basketball for Hannibal and for Houghton College and was an All-America Scholar Athlete.  She held a master's degree from Oswego State in education. Her friends described her as "a joy to be around" with a love of people and life. 

 

Sterling Stage Scholarship--$1,000

Open to all graduating seniors from Hannibal High School accepted at a 2 or 4 year college or technical school, with preference to students entering the field of education.
