GAS CARD RAFFLE WINNER APRIL 2017.

Ray Forsythe of Hannibal was the lucky winner of the Hannibal Dollars for Scholars $100 gas card raffle.  He couldn't contain his grin as he received the card of Chapter President Louis Gilbert at the annual pulled pork dinner.

Hannibal Dollars for Scholars provides scholarships to graduates of Hannibal High School each year.  This year's gas card raffle netted enough profit to provide two scholarships.  The number of scholarships awarded varies due to the amount of funds raised through events and donations during the previous year.  The Duck Derby is the largest fund raiser, providing four scholarships each year.  In 2016, in addition to the Duck Derby and Gas Card Raffle fund raisers, donations from the  the Hannibal Country Cruizers, Sterling Stage and several community members made it possible for seventeen students to receive scholarships.  Scholarships for 2017 will be awarded in June.  Donations and assistance with fund raising efforts are needed, as the number of students in need is rising, while funds have been depleted.  Anyone interested in working with the chapter can contact Louis Gilbert, Chapter President at 315-564-5679 or email us at hannibal@dollarsforscholars.org

COUNTRY CRUIZERS DONATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Country Cruizers Donate Scholarships

Hannibal Dollars for Scholars is the recipient of a $4,500 donation from the Country Cruizers Car Club.  This donation will fund  three $500 scholarships this year, and an additional two per year for the next three years.

The Country Cruizers Car Club is a social club whose members own and love classic cars.  The club members also enjoy supporting the community.  They work many hours parking cars at the Hannibal Field Days each summer and use their share of the dollars raised to sponsor scholarships through Hannibal Dollars for Scholars and donate to local food pantries.  This year an anonymous individual who was familiar with and impressed by the Cruizers history of donations gave the Club a check and asked that the club distribute the funds to charities, at the club's discretion.  This enabled to club to make a larger donation this year for future scholarships.
